The bomb squad has been called to a Ross-shire hotel after the discovery of 'unexploded bombs.'
Emergency services rushed to the scene at Strathpeffer after initial reports were received at around 2:30pm.
Two devices were found by tradesman working outside the Ben Wyvis Hotel.
We understand the explosives were unearthed through construction work which is being carried out away from the main hotel building.
A joiner who was on site when the discovery was made says he was "shocked" at the find.
Guests have been allowed to enter and leave the hotel through a separate entrance.
Norman Bremner from Norman Bremner Joiner and Contractor says he was surprised at the find.
The 55-year-old said: "I was shocked, it's not something you find every day.
"We suspected what it was, we've seen this sort of thing in films and thought it looked suspicious."
Police Scotland have confirmed officers remain on the scene.
A spokesperson said: "We received a report that two ordnance items were found in the grounds of a property on Main Street, Strathpeffer, around 2.30pm on Wednesday, 10 May, 2023.
"Officers remain at the scene and EOD have been contacted."
A spokesperson for the Ben Wyvis Hotel declined to comment on the current situation.
