Armed officers involved in Inverness city centre incident

Police say they were called to reports of a disturbance on Muirtown Street

The alert was raised around midday with all three emergency services in attendance

Police have been called to reports of a disturbance on Muirtown Street in Inverness.

Officers said they received calls around 11.50am about the incident near to the Telford Street Roundabout in the centre of the city.

It is understood that armed officers also attended, along with ambulance crews and three teams from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

Part of Kenneth Street has been closed near to the roundabout since 1pm.
