14-year-old arrested in connection with Ardersier attack

Enquiries remain ongoing to trace others involved.

A teenage boy has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault in a Highland village.

The incident took place on Friday night at around 8.10pm, with a 62-year-old man taken to hospital for treatment.

Police Scotland says the 14-year-old will be reported to the Youth Justice Management Department and enquiries remain ongoing to trace others involved.

Detective Sergeant Duncan Jones said: “Our enquiries remain are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this to contact us.

“We also ask anyone with private CCTV or dashcam footage of the area at the time to come forward.”
