They've raised over £15,000 over the past two years

The Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity say they’re ‘extremely proud’ after raising tens of thousands of pounds.
It follows their partnership with Worcester City Runs over the past two years, with the money going towards vital improvements across the county’s hospitals.
Over that time, more than 80 runners have taken part for the charity to help make the working day easier, the service more comfortable, and the patient experience better at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.
Since partnering with Events of the North as the official charity partner of the Worcester City Runs, hospital staff, their family members and friends, have taken part in the race for the charity which raises money for patients and staff across the Alexandra, Kidderminster, and Worcestershire Royal Hospitals.
The cash which has been raised has contributed to many improvements across several services, including the Children of Worcestershire Cancer Fund, which assists patients, their families, and loved ones.
Additionally, the Millbrook Suite Fund at Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre has benefited from a share of the more than £15,000 raised through Worcester City Runs.
The funds raised have also supported crucial initiatives, including enhancing End of Life Care facilities, including the Peony Room at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, which received significant upgrades, and bereavement bags were introduced to improve personal effects return to grieving families.
Money has also been used to support the NHS Rainbow Badge project, which trains staff to better support LGBTQ+ patients and colleagues.
Sophie Burt, Head of Fundraising and Community Development at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity, said: "We are immensely proud of what this partnership has achieved. It is through the dedication of our runners and the generosity of our supporters that we have been able to make a real difference to the lives of patients and their families, as well as hospital staff."
Worcester City Runs founder Steve Cram said: “It’s been a real pleasure working with Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity. From the very first year of the Worcester City Runs, many of those who have taken part have used the event to raise money for some excellent causes, and this latest partnership has been really effective.
"Congratulations to everyone who has contributed to such a large total over the last two years, which will make such an important difference for local people.”
