Pupils at a Worcester school have been holding their own mock general election today.

Nunnery Wood High School students have had lessons on democracy, voting and party politics in the run-up to today’s election.

The school also hosted the last election debate between Worcester’s parliamentary candidates on Tuesday night (July 2).

Today, pupils and teachers have been casting their ballots in school.

Assistant head teacher Bee Speechley said: “We are very keen to ensure that our students leave school with the skills required to fully participate in democracy and to be active citizens in their local and global community.”
