Man fined over £1000 after damaging Worcester Waddle

A man has pleaded guilty to damaging three of the sculptures that were part of the Worcester Waddle.

Malachi Graham, of Malvern Road in Worcester, appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on Thursday 24 April.

The 20-year-old was ordered to pay £859 in compensation, plus additional fines amounting to £365.

Around 1am on Tuesday 20 August 2024, Graham admitted to causing damage to three penguin sculptures along the riverside. All three were removed from the plinths they stood on and one was thrown into the river.

The sculptures were part of the Worcester Waddle that raised money for St Richards Hospice.
