Worcester's town crier gets behind booster jab message

It's part of efforts from health officials to get as many people vaccinated before Christmas

Worcester's town crier is getting behind the message for people to get their booster jabs.

Kevin Ward will be ringing his bell outside the Guildhall in Worcester today and encouraging people to get vaccinated in the lead up to Christmas.

It's part of efforts from Herefordshire and Worcestershire Clinical Commissioning group in the fight against the new Omicron variant.

So far 1,614, 865 people have received a first, second or third dose of a coroanvirus vaccine across the two counties - and 402,150 people have received a booster vaccine.

health officials will be providing information and guidance about the vaccine to members of the public and directing them to the newly open vaccination hub at the Heart of Worcestershire College.

The hub is located on Copenhagen Street opposite the old fire station and is open everyday until Christmas Eve from 8am to 8pm.
