A 58-year-old man has been banned from parts of Worcester city centre for two years after being convicted of harassment and assault.

Shaun Skyvington, of no fixed abode, faced multiple charges at Worcester Magistrates Court on 6th January.

He was found guilty of harassment and assault by beating in Crown Passage on 8th September 2025, public disorder and threats in Broad Street on 4th November 2025, and possession of offensive weapons on two separate occasions last year.

One of the charges involved Skyvington carrying a screwdriver in Broad Street, and another involved possession of a ball inside a sock at a Wetherspoons pub in Worcester city centre on 20th September 2025.

The court issued a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) against him, preventing him from entering parts of the city centre as marked on a map presented in court.

As part of the sentencing, Skyvington was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £114 and court costs of £85 for the assault charge.

Police response to court decision

Police Sergeant Sarah England of Worcester’s city centre team said that the CBO was granted to protect the public from Skyvington’s violent and threatening behaviour.

“We are pleased to get this CBO for Skyvington whose public disorder and violent behaviour have been threatening towards members of the public in the city centre.

“We hope serving this CBO on him shows we will not tolerate violence or threatening behaviour in our city centre and act where appropriate to keep everyone safe from harm,” she said.

The police have urged the public to report any suspected breaches of the order to West Mercia Police by calling 101 or using their online reporting service.
