A pensioner has been taken to hospital with life-changing injuries after a dog attack in Worcester.
West Mercia Police is still at the scene in Boughton Avenue after three people were injured by a dog shortly before 9.10am this morning.
Officers had to carry out first aid on two people until paramedics arrived, with West Midlands Ambulance Service saying three people were injured – two of them seriously.
In a statement, police said a 68-year-old woman has been taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with life-threatening injuries.
They have since said the injuries are not as serious as first thought, but are still potentially life-changing.
A 38-year-old man has been taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital with injuries which are not life-threatening.
Paramedics said a third man at the house was treated for injuries not believed to be serious. He didn’t want to go to hospital so was discharged at the scene.
The dog was dead when officers arrived, so police said there is no further risk to members of public.
Two ambulances, two paramedics officers and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham were sent to the scene.
The air ambulance medics went with the 68-year-old woman to hospital in Birmingham where they continued treatment en route.
