A wooden fox sculpture, which has called a Worcestershire nature reserve its home for 15 years, but was damaged earlier this year, has now been repaired and successfully restored to its site.

The wooden fox seat was installed in the Laugherne Brook in 2009 by Worcester City Council, and has been there ever since.

Bad weather had left the fox needing work done to it, with The Friends of Laugherne Brook applying for a grant from the council for the materials required to fix it.

Community group Men’s Shed Worcester agreed to mend the sculpture, and member Stephen Buckley says it's fantastic to see it back out on display.

"It's really great to be able to give something back to the community," he said.

"The wind and rain had really taken its toll, the head had almost lost it's ears, the legs were getting a bit rotten as well, so it was a really nice project to work on.

"Actually getting together with all of this equipment so that people can come down and make their own projects, it's been a great opportunity to help each other make things, which generates all sorts of conversations, and some have made really good friends."

The fox was reinstated near it's original position along Sapphire Crescent at the end of November.
