Key workers in the parts of Worcester where the South African variant of coronavirus has been found are being urged to book a test as soon as possible.

The County Council says this is especially important if you're NOT working from home.

Two testing sites have been setup for people who live in the WR3 and WR9 postcode areas.

In total, they're hoping to get to approximately 6,000 people who live in the affected areas.

A drive-through testing centre has been setup at Sixways Stadium in Worcester and also at the White Hart pub in Fernhill Heath - although only people within walking distance are being asked to go there.

Home testing kits are also going to start being delivered soon.

There is currently no evidence to suggest the new variant is more dangerous although there are concerns it can spread more easily and that some vaccines may not be as effective against it.
