Herefordshire glamping site sees boost in bookings after limitations on foreign travel
Portugal was taken off the Government's green list earlier this week
Hotels, B&Bs and campsites across Herefordshire and Worcestershire are seeing a huge boost in business due to limitations of foreign travel this summer.
Earlier this week Portugal, one of the most popular holiday destinations, was taken off the Government's green travel list.
It left many holidaymakers rushing to get home to avoid paying for coronavirus tests and quarantining on their return.
Very few holiday destinations remain on the Government's 'safe' list which has lead to a boost in people going on so-called staycations.
One of those is Nature's Nest, a glamping site in Herefordshire, which only has one week left in the summer to book up.
Steph Thomas, owner of Nature's Nest, said: "It's really not a bad time to be in glamping and the staycation business in the UK.
"Everyone's looking to holiday in this country and it's really great to see families back out and about enjoying some time away together.
"I think it's a massive boost for the UK economy and for people to see parts of the UK which they might not have seen before."
Steph started nature's Nest in August 2019 and suffered a huge loss in sales after being forced to close last summer.
Steph continued: "It's a big relief for me to be open again and obviously it was a massive investment to start up the site in the first place.
"When I started I thought 2020 would be a full season but obviously that didn't happen.
"It's just great to see it how I intended really. I wanted the tents to be full and to see families and groups to enjoy the space that we have year and that's finally happening".
