Security breach at housing firm in Herefordshire and Shropshire
Connexus says it's investigating
A rural housing association, providing more than 10,000 homes in Herefordshire and Shropshire, has experienced a security breach.
Connexus is currently investigating an incident, involving unauthorised access to its systems. As a precautionary measure it's taken its systems offline, to protect the personal data of its customers.
A statement on the organisation's website said:
"Our IT teams, working alongside relevant agencies, are working to investigate and establish what information may have been accessed and to restore systems quickly. We will resume a normal service as soon as possible.
"Until then Connexus will continue to operate an emergency repairs service only. Our teams will attempt to complete any other appointments that have already been booked in but may call you to rearrange.
"Your safety is our priority, and this includes the safety and integrity of your personal data. As with any security incident which may involve personal data, we are asking all customers to remain extremely vigilant, especially when it comes to discussing any financial information with Connexus or any other organisation such as a bank, building society or retailer.
