Redditch United have announced First Team manager, Matt Clarke, has stood down from his role with immediate effect.

It's after Clarke was arrested and bailed in February this year on suspicion of being concerned with the supply of class A drugs - and is continuing to defend himself.

In a statement on their website, Redditch United say "It has been concluded that a new manager is required to provide greater certainty for the club, its supporters and the current playing squad, as important plans continue ahead of the new season.

"We would like to thank our supporters for their patience in what has been a difficult and uncertain time for everyone."

Clarke appeared at Worcester Crown Court yesterday (14 May) and is next due in court on 21 June.
