Redditch electrical substation fire put out

Two crews were sent from Hereford and Worcester Fire to Redditch this morning.

In a statement, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue said "Two Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Redditch and one from Bromsgrove, as well as one from Upton upon Severn, were called to a fire in an electrical substation at Trescott Road in Redditch at 09:31 on 7 April.

"The substation, which is approximately 3m by 3m, was well alight and the fire is being fought by two firefighters in breathing apparatus and the use of a compressed air foam system.

"Police are also in attendance for traffic management. Power to the substation has been isolated by Western Power. As at 12:27, the incident is has been marked as ‘stop’ and a reinspection is taking place."
