The leader of Redditch Borough Council has resigned after he was suspended by the Labour party.

After 11 months in the role Councillor Joe Baker has stepped down.

The West Midlands Labour party confirmed he had been suspended, but would not comment further on the matter.

He became leader of the council in May last year, after Labour took control of Redditch in the local elections.
