Three people have been arrested following an incident in Droitwich on Wednesday evening (17 January).

Officers attended a property on Winslow Avenue at around 4.45pm to make an arrest.

An altercation broke out and a police constable was threatened with a knife and assaulted by two men.

Two men aged in their 40s and 70s were arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and have been released on bail. A 15-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of burglary which remains under investigation.

Safer Neighbourhood Inspector for Malvern Hills and Wychavon, Dave Wise, said: "I’d like to thank the public for their cooperation while we dealt with the incident and reassure the public that this was an isolated incident and at no time was no there any wider risk.

“I’d also like to be clear that violence against police officers will never be tolerated. No one goes to work to be assaulted and we will act on anyone who thinks this behaviour is acceptable.”
