Police appeal for witnesses to Worcester rape

The incident happened between 11pm and midnight on Thursday, 15 June.

Officers investigating a rape that occurred in Worcester are appealing for witnesses that may have been in the area to come forward.

West Mercia Police say the incident took place between 11pm and midnight on Thursday 15 June in Bank Street in Worcester.

Both the victim and the suspect were in the area of High Street in Worcester approximately 10 minutes prior to the incident occurring.

A 36-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of Friday 16 June and has been released under investigation.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Ben Kings said: “Following the review of CCTV footage there are people passing through the area around the time of the incident that we are urging to come forward, they may have witnessed the incident/saw suspicious behaviour prior to the incident taking place.”
