A new chemotherapy treatment unit has been opened in Kidderminster Hospital.

Staff at the Millbrook Suite have completed the move to the refurbished place, where they will continue to provide care for patients.

Sam Toland is the lead chemotherapy nurse for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and says it's great news.

She said: "With more cancers being diagnosed earlier, it means that patients are accessing treatment quicker, and we have to be able to accommodate for that in our chemotherapy services.

"Access to treatment is really important, and we want to be able to offer it to as many patients as possible.

"It's really nice to be able to have a big new space where we can continue to do that, and also expand in the future."

The unit was previously used as a temporary base for chemotherapy services during COVID.
