Missing Evesham man last seen in Bristol, now spotted in Gloucester
Lee Horton has not been in touch with his family since Tuesday 11th March
A 36-year-old man from Evesham who went missing in Bristol earlier this month, has now been spotted on CCTV in Gloucester.
Lee Horton has not been in touch with his family since Tuesday 11th March after travelling to Bristol. He had told them he would get a train home, but never arrived.
Enquires by Avon and Somerset Police have so far established he tried and failed to book a hotel in Bristol on the Tuesday morning but they would not accept cash.
Through CCTV officers traced him from Upper Maudlin Street near the BRI up to the Clifton Triangle, down into Broadmead where he visited various shops and then on to Bristol Temple Meads, where he paid cash for a ticket to Worcester and got on a train at around 2:40pm.
However, rather than travelling to Worcester Shrub Hill, CCTV captures Lee getting off the train at Gloucester and leaving the station at 3:33pm.
The latest sighting is of him leaving ASDA Gloucester and walking towards Station Road at 3.46pm.
Detective Inspector Tim Mullins said: “Throughout this investigation we have kept an open mind and followed up every potential sighting and piece of information.
“Carrying out CCTV enquiries is challenging work. In many cases only certain staff at premises with private CCTV can access the system, while others require a formal application to a head office, adding delays to the process.
“We can now be confident that Lee travelled out of Bristol by train as planned, but remain concerned for his welfare as he has yet to return home or contact his family. We will work with our colleagues in Gloucestershire Police to progress the enquiry.”
Lee is 5ft 11ins tall and white with short dark brown hair and a beard and a distinguishing birth mark on his right arm.
He was wearing a blue jacket, dark-coloured jeans and was carrying a large black rucksack with red tags on it.
Speaking to Greatest Hits Radio earlier this week, Lee's brother Keiran said: "The concern is very high.
"The worry is beyond any level that I think I have ever had...
"I just want to let him know that we love him and that we care, and we just want to know that he knows the importance of his position in life at the moment.
"We just want to make sure he's safe."
