Four people have been injured, one fatally, after a road crash near Evesham last night (Thursday 10th).
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 8.29pm to the junction of Pitchers Hill and the A44 in Broadway and sent three ambulances, a paramedic officer, a Mental Health Car with Specialist Paramedics onboard and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car from Strensham to the scene.
The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and Wiltshire Air Ambulance were also in attendance.
West Mercia Police have confirmed a road closure remains in place on the A44 at Pitchers Lane near Wickhamford - on the stretch of road between Evesham and Broadway.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival, we found three cars had been involved in a collision.
“The driver of the first car, a man, had been removed from the vehicle with the help of fire colleagues and was receiving basic life support.
“Ambulance crews immediately took over and began administering advanced life support but sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, he could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene.
“The passenger from the same car, also a man, was treated by medics for serious injuries after being removed from the vehicle by fire colleagues. He was then conveyed to Worcester Royal Hospital via land for further treatment.
“The driver of the second car, a man, had self-extricated when ambulance crews arrived.
“He was treated for potentially serious injuries at the scene before being taken by land ambulance to the same hospital for further treatment.
“The female driver of the third car was assessed by ambulance staff and treated for injuries not believed to be serious before also being taken to Worcester Royal Hospital via land for further treatment.”
