A man has died following a collision involving a motorbike and a car yesterday afternoon.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the incident outside the Holt Fleet Hotel, Holt Heath, Worcester at 4.45pm.

Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham was sent to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival crews discovered two patients.

"A man, who was the motorcyclist, was found to be in a critical condition and already receiving medical attention from an off-duty paramedic and off-duty nurse.

"Ambulance crews immediately began administering advanced life support but sadly, despite everyone's best efforts, it became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.

"A woman, who was the driver of the car, was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Worcester Royal Hospital by land ambulance for further assessment."

West Mercia Police are now appealing for witnesses of the collision.
