Man arrested in Hereford

Police were called to the Newton Farm area last night

There may be an increased police presence in part of Hereford today (13 May).

Officers could up patrols around the Newton Farm area, following reports of someone allegedly being seen with a gun last night. They were called at around 7.30pm.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent. He remains in police custody as investigations continue.

No one was injured and police believe this to have been an isolated incident.

Anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident or may have CCTV, or dash-cam footage is asked to contact West Mercia Police quoting incident 553i of 12 May.
