Man arrested over drugs offences after ramming police car in Redditch

A man has rammed his car into a police vehicle in Redditch, while attempting to escape arrest after being stopped on suspicion of drugs offences.

However, officers successfully blocked off the car and attempted to smash the driver’s window.

A man then attempted to flee on foot, before being quickly detained by officers.

A quantity of drugs was found, and a 35-year-old man was arrested for dangerous driving, failing to stop and being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

He was further arrested for driving under the influence of drugs after failing a roadside test.

The incident occurred around midday on Wednesday 11 October in the Melen Street area of Redditch.

The man was bailed while investigations continue.
