Headteacher of Leominster Primary School says former pupil Jarrod Bowen is a great 'role model'
Bowen is over in Germany with the England squad for the Euros
A primary school in Leominster where professional footballer Jarrod Bowen used to study, say they are proud of him and what he's achieved.
Bowen attended Leominster Primary School in his hometown when he was growing up, and is part of the England national team who are out in Germany at the moment for the Euros.
Headteacher Helen Rees says he's a real role model for the pupils there.
"We're immensely proud of him," she said.
"When he got the England call-up, we put a banner out the front saying well done Jarrod, and there was a huge buzz around the school.
"The children are all talking about it, they just want Jarrod to get on the pitch, and they're all watching him and what he's done, and I think it shows our children that hard work and determination can pay off.
"They want to be Jarrod, and playing in Jarrod's position, and I think as a school we have got more children now that say they want to be footballers."
Bowen and his team-mates are preparing to face Slovakia this evening in their Euros last 16 match.
