Like across the country, events are being held in Herefordshire and Worcestershire today to mark Remembrance Sunday.

In Worcester, their traditional parade is set to take place, with Hereford city council holding their commemoration at the war memorial and services also happening in Leominster, Ledbury, Ross-on-Wye and Bromyard.

Mayor of Worcester, councillor Mel Allcott says it's important events like this continue to happen so people can continue to pay their respects.

"Remembrance Sunday in Worcester is always a poignant occasion when we remember all those who have fallen in conflict in order that we have freedom," she said.

"I think as the years tick by, it's just so important that we remember and that we ensure that the next generation remember as well.

"It is that point in the year where everyone can stop and pause and and remember all those who we have lost, and and those who have been injured and affected in ways from all the wars that have happened."

Worcester, Hereford, Leominster, Ledbury, Ross-on-Wye and Bromyard will all also host events tomorrow on the 11 November for Armistice Day.
