Hereford FC has banned two individuals from Edgar Street following the abandonment of yesterday’s FA Cup clash with Sporting Khalsa.

The second-half suspension came after reports of discriminatory behaviour from the stands.

Club chairman Chris Ammonds said the incidents had left the club “deeply upset” and stressed such behaviour “will not be tolerated.”

He confirmed that two people identified as being potentially involved will not be allowed to attend matches while investigations continue.

“Anyone capable of such behaviour is not welcome in our fantastic fanbase,” he said.

The matter is also under police investigation, and the club has urged supporters not to speculate about those involved.

Ammonds praised the wider Hereford support, saying: “I am proud of the response I have seen from our fanbase as a whole, both at the game and in the aftermath.

"Discriminatory behaviour of any sort must be called out and as a football community it is absolutely vital that we continue to do just that.”

A statement from West Midlands Police said: "An investigation will be carried out, and the victim will be spoken to in due course to establish the details."

"Anyone with information or anyone who witnessed the incident can get in touch with us via Live Chat on our website, or by calling 101 quoting log 3265 of 13 September."
