"Lucky to be alive" dumped guinea pigs saved by RSPCA
The animal charity says the pair were found in a rural spot in Bromsgrove
Two female guinea pigs dumped at a Worcestershire beauty spot are lucky to be alive - according to the RSPCA.
A runner found the pair inside a cage with no food or water at Hurcott Pool and Wood car park in Bromsgrove last Friday (5th March).
They're now being taken care of at the animal charity's Gonsal Farm Centre Shropshire and investigations are underway to find out how they ended up there.
Inspector Claire Davey is keen to find who is responsible for dumping the pets, she said: "These poor guinea pigs were lucky to be found - it was 8.30pm and had they not been discovered I am not sure they would have survived the night in the cold.
"One of them had a wound on her rear end but this has been cleaned by staff at the centre and she is doing well.
"It is awful to think someone could just dump their pets like rubbish at the side of a remote road and I am keen to find the person responsible.
"I am hoping someone may recognise the pets and know who had them or someone will have seen something suspicious in the area where they were found.
"The cage they were in is about a metre wide so it would have been awkward to carry it and am hoping that someone may have seen this."
