Police in Worcester attend house fire to find cannabis farm inside
Officers were met with quite the surprise- over 150 cannabis plants!
A cannabis grow has been recovered after officers attended a house fire in Worcester.
At around 7.39pm last night (Thursday 21st November) officers responded to reports of a house fire at a property in Bromyard Road in Worcester.
The fire service was already at the scene of the blaze, which is thought to have been started by an electrical fault, when officers arrived.
Inside, it had been discovered that around 150 cannabis plants at various stages of growth were inside the flat.
No one was in the property, and no arrests have been made yet.
Officers are currently at the scene making sure it's safe, so the cultivation can be cleared and enquiries into the grow continue.
Inspector Neil Solomon said: “Cannabis farms like this one not only impact negatively on our local communities as they are often linked to serious and organised criminal gangs, but they are dangerous to run and can have devastating impacts on our neighbourhoods.
“Luckily this fire was put out by the fire service before it could spread to other properties, but this could have had a much worse outcome.
