A cordon is in place in a Herefordshire village as unexploded ordnance has been found.

The bomb squad has been called to the scene and West Mercia Police officers are blocking the lane in the middle of Colwall.

On the border between Herefordshire and Worcestershire near Ledbury, the village is still calm despite the 200-metre cordon to ensure people’s safety.

West Mercia Police said it will wait for the Army’s explosives team to arrive before deciding the next steps.

That could be to take the item elsewhere to blow-up, like what happened in Worcester earlier this week when magnet fishers pulled an item from the river Severn.
