Bin lorry fire in Hereford extinguished

A bin lorry that caught on fire this afternoon in Hereford has been extinguished.

Two crews from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were called out to Aylestone Hill just after 1pm, to reports of a large vehicle on fire.

Crews reported that the fire was contained to the rear of the vehicle.

The fire was fought by two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using one hosereel jet.

A thermal imaging camera and small tools were also used with dampening down taking place after the contents were removed from the lorry.
