An outbreak of Avian Flu has been found at a poultry farm in the Shobdon area near Leominster.

The government's Animal and Plant Health Agency confirmed the virus's presence on Thursday night.

The agency is currently working with DEFRA, the UK Health Security Agency and Herefordshire Council to deal with the outbreak.

The council stress that the risk to public health is very low and that properly cooked poultry products, including eggs, remain safe to eat.

If you find any dead birds in the area, do not touch them and report them to DEFRA.
