Police are appealing for witnesses after reports of a young man chasing two other with a weapon in Stourport.

Officers were called to the town's Tesco store at around 4.30pm yesterday afternoon (2 August) to reports of a male chasing two others with a metal instrument.

Inspector Lisa Hornberger, of Wyre Forest Police, said: “We would like to reassure the public that, working with the store, it has been confirmed to us this is believed to be a short pole of some description and not a machete type instrument which has been rumoured on social media.

“We do not believe there is any wider risk to the public and are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward and help us identify this person and/or the people he was with so they can help us with our enquiries."

The male police are looking for is described as white, aged around 16 to 17, of slim build with brown hair and wearing black tracksuit bottoms, a bright orange top and a bag with a red and black strap.
