An 11 year-old boy's been airlifted to hospital, after a collision with a car in Herefordshire.

Police are at the scene on Winslow Road in Bromyard.

They say the boy has serious injuries - but they're not believed to be life-threatening.

The road is closed.

Queen Elizabeth High School say a year 7 pupil from the school was involved in a road traffic accident at around 8.30am this morning.

In a statement, they continue: "A local trained paramedic was on the scene immediately along with other members of the public and school staff to attend to the young person, who had received a number of injuries in the collision. Police and paramedics then attended and took over. After assessment by ambulance staff the decision was taken the transfer the pupil to hospital via air ambulance. The school would like to thank all those involved for their kindness, care and attention and we wish the young person and their family a speedy recovery."
