For the first day since 28th August 2020, Harrogate District Hospital has zero inpatients with Covid-19.

In a statement the Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust said: "Thank you to our hospital-based colleagues for their immense efforts throughout the past year and a bit. An incredible effort.

"Our colleagues in our community services also continue to work hard, going to people's homes, running clinics, providing virtual support and ensuring care is still provided. They're superstars too.

"And thank you to our local communities for following guidance, making sacrifices, being understanding and doing your bit. Especially if you've had the vaccine.

"We are likely to see spikes in covid-positive admissions as lockdown continues to ease, but it’s a real positive to see that 0 today."
