Water supplies to 4,000 homes in Ripon have been restored.

It follows a burst water main yesterday afternoon (Thursday, 18 August).

Some were left without water for 12 hours - with bottles of water being handed out at the city's fire station.

Yorkshire Water had been working around the clock to repair the leak.

Around 6am this morning (Friday, 19 August), the company took to Twitter to confirm work to the pipe is now complete.

It added that water supplies have been restored - though some may experience short lived discolouration.
