Police are investigating a collision in Skipton in which a white Ford Transit van caused damage to a HGV as it was overtaking it.

It happened at around 6.30am on Wednesday 3rd March on the A59 near the Broughton Road junction, as both vehicles were travelling towards the Little Chef roundabout (the A59/A65 roundabout).

Officers say it's been reported that the Transit van was being driven on the wrong side of the road, head on into oncoming traffic.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses or anyone who has dash cam footage to get in touch with them.

They're particularly keen to hear from the driver of the vehicle which the van was driving head on towards.
