A Ukrainian family who died in a crash involving two cars and a double-decker bus in North Yorkshire have been named by police.

35-year-old Daria Bartienieva, her six-year-old son Ihor, and her step-daugher Anastasiia were involved in the collision on the A61 on near Ripon.

Police said the car they were travelling in hit the bus head-on near South Stainley at around 14:00BST on Sunday 02 September.

An investigation is continuing into the crash, and North Yorkshire Police said it's thoughts are with their family in the UK and Ukraine.

It's understood a fourth member of the family, a teenage girl, was not in the car at the time and is now being cared for by friends and relatives.

A book of condolence has opened at Holy Trinity Church Ripon, where tributes have been left, including from the UK family who sponsored them as refugees.
