The family of a man who died after an assault outside a pub in Skipton have paid tribute to him.

41-year-old Peter Walker from Lancashire was taken to hospital in a critical condition after he was attacked on Saturday night.

His family have described him as a "loving father, husband, brother and son" who was known for being "outgoing and hilarious".

In a statement, they said: "If anybody needed any support Pete was always there to lend a hand.

“Sadly, Pete was taken away from us all too soon in tragic circumstances.

“He will be greatly missed by all of us.

“Rest in peace, Big Lad.”

North Yorkshire Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses, and three men have been arrested on suspicion of assault.

All have been released on conditional bail as investigations continue.
