It's another day of disruption for many school children across North Yorkshire, as their teachers head back out on strike.
Members of the National Education Union are demanding a fully funded pay rise for staff.
Gary McVeigh-Kaye is from the NEU and represents staff across North Yorkshire. He tells us he is optimistic there will be a good outcome: "I think the Government have got to realise that the only way forward is to proper negotiations and meaningful negotiations. It is happening in some sectors, there is some ground being gained by railway workers, there is also some ground being gained for nurses in terms of pay discussions.
In a statement the Department for Education says the decision to strike puts children’s education and wellbeing at risk at a time when teachers are working to support them in recovering from the pandemic.
