Snow and ice warning for Harrogate and Dales

The warning runs from 10pm tonight until midnight tomorrow.

We're being warned about snow and ice across Harrogate and the Dales tonight and tomorrow.

A Met Office yellow warning's in place from 10pm until midnight on Tuesday.

There could be travel disruption on the roads and railways.

Some higher rural communities could become cut off.

Power cuts may occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected.

A chance of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces, with some pavements and cycle paths perhaps almost impassable.

Meanwhile North Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group have confirmed the vaccination appointments scheduled tomorrow at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate and Ripon Racecourse will be rescheduled because of the weather.

A spokesperson, said: "Heavy snow is forecast for tomorrow morning and in the interests of patient safety, appointments due to take place at the Yorkshire Event Centre at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate, and at Ripon Racecourse between 8am and 12.45pm are being rescheduled.

"Appointments currently scheduled for tomorrow afternoon will go ahead as planned.

"GP practices in the Harrogate District are currently in the process of contacting all affected patients directly and will be booking those patients in to the next available clinics."
