Snow and ice is causing problems across Harrogate and the Dales today (Friday, 8 January).
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wintry weather.
It's in place up until midnight tonight (Friday, 8 January).
UPDATES:
4.18pm: Some bus routes are now up and running according to the Harrogate Bus Company.
1.32pm: People are using other modes of transport to get around the snow.
Road Policing Sergeant Paul Paul Cording from North Yorkshire Police spotted someone skiing down the road in Harrogate.
12.37pm: Harrogate Bus Company have given themselves the temporary title of "The Harrogate Gritting Company."
Many motorists have got stuck on icy roads in the town - particularly on the hill on the High Street - with staff from the Harrogate Bus Company helping to free them:
Operations Director of the Harrogate Bus Company, Vitto Pizzuti, said: “Our team has really pulled together, to try and help around the town on a difficult day. The weather looks to have caught a lot of people by surprise, so we’ve been out gritting roads, getting stuck cars moving again, and doing what we can to help.
“The generosity of others has been really welcome too – like the team in Sainbury’s in Knaresborough bringing hot drinks to our drivers waiting in the bus station.
“We’re hoping to have buses running normally again very soon, thanks to the effort of our colleagues.”
12pm: Grounds staff at Harrogate and District Hospital have been working hard to make the car park accessible.
Matthew Cross from Estates, James Mason from Car Parking and the rest of the team from the Harrogate Integrated Facilities team are busy battling the elements to keep the hospital site safe.
Around a dozen schools, only open to vulnerable children or children of key workers, have been forced to close.
The weather is also disrupting the roads.
10.08am: Harrogate Bus company has suspended all buses already out and Harrogate Borough Council has also stopped the waste collection.
All routes around Harrogate, Knaresborough and Pannal are affected - including A59, A61, A661 and A65.
North Yorkshire Police have issued a warning , saying "please don’t travel unless you have to and reconsider your route":
