A charity in Ripon is offering an environmentally-friendly tree collection and disposal service and will collect trees from those living in and around the city.

Ripon Community Link are hoping to raise funds to continue delivering and developing its services for adults with learning difficulties, so they're offering to collect trees for just £6.

It'll see the trees being used for fencing at Ripon Walled Garden, or chipped and recycled.

Victoria Ashley, Ripon Community Link chief executive, said: “Our Christmas Tree collection service proved very popular last Christmas as it takes the hassle out of the post-Christmas clear up. For a small donation, we’ll collect your tree, which will save you a trip to the tip”.

“All of the funds raised are used to support the delivery and development of our services for people with learning disabilities at our two sites, St Wilfrid’s Bungalow and Ripon Walled Garden.

“The trees we collect are all put to good use at our Walled Garden. All people need to do is give us a call and we will do the rest.”

Ripon Community Link sells a variety of Christmas gifts, trees and wreaths throughout December at Ripon Walled Garden to help finance the services it delivers.

Collections can be booked by calling 01765 609229 or by emailing admin@riponwalledgarden.org . Please note the Walled Garden will be closed from 3pm on December 24 until Monday, January 3. But either email or leave a message on the answerphone.
