Suspected power tool thieves arrested in Harrogate

Two men are in custody in Harrogate, after being arrested on suspicion of stealing power tools.

At about 1am today, Friday 5 November 2021, a vigilant member of the public contacted North Yorkshire Police to report suspicious activity in the Bilton area of Harrogate. The caller had seen two men walking past carrying a box full of items.

Police officers attended immediately and carried out an extensive area search. They located two men, both aged in their 50s and from West Yorkshire. A box containing a variety of power tools was recovered nearby.

Both men were arrested on suspicion of theft. They remain in custody while enquiries continue.
