A police officer has tweeted his annoyance about damage to trees on the Stray in Harrogate.

Sergeant Andy Graham spotted them as he was walking to work on Saturday morning, saying some had been destroyed and killed.

He posted a number of pictures on Twitter which show trees lying flat on the ground close to a road, as well as some young trees which were being supported by stakes snapped at the trunk.

Expressing his frustration at those responsible, Sgt Graham tweeted "Harrogate isn't perfect...but it's a paradise compared to some places I've been. But if you don't like it there's nothing keeping you here."
