The owner of a self-storage firm which has branches in North Yorkshire says his company and up to 20 others will be helping get supplies to Ukranian refugees in Poland.

Kevin Doyle says people can drop off toiletries, sanitary products and non-perishable food to any of his branches of mylockup.com.

The idea came about after he met the owner of a storage company IN Poland who agreed to help out.

Kevin said: "We have staff in the offices all day. We have roadside visibility and we have the space so it seemed like an ideal opportunity here for us to be able to use all of that to advertise and use our branches as a drop-off point.

"Last week we had a self-storage workshop and I said to this guy 'look, if we can collect whatever's needed and we can get it to Poland, can you get it to these refugees?' Fantastic idea he said let's do it. I suggested maybe we do a self-storage convoy.

"Even before I went into this meeting on Monday morning with these guys, my staff had already started with emails pinging about with 'what can we do?' And then it just gelled with this Polish connection when I saw it on the TV that a lot of them were piling into Poland."

You can find your nearest branch here if you would like to make any donations.
