Man rescued from river near Ripon

Fire crews were called to the River Ure at Sharow this morning.

A man's been rescued from the River Ure near Ripon.

North Yorkshire fire and rescue service were called out to Sharow at 9.40am - to reports of a man in the water.

Water rescue crews from Ripon, Boroughbridge, Richmond, Harrogate and Selby attended.

The man was suffering from hypothermic symptoms and was taken to hospital by helicopter.
