Multiple emergency services were called out yesterday (Saturday 5 December) to assist a kayaker stuck on the rocks at Linton Falls.

The Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association was joined by the Fire Service, Police and Ambulance, including Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

The male casualty was severely injured and hypothermic.

After being freed from the rocks, the man was placed on a sled and floated downstream, to a location where he could be removed from the water.

Once off the river, he was checked over by paramedics and doctors, before being flown to hospital by air ambulance.

In a post on Facebook, the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association say, "We wish him a speedy recovery."
