Investigations into the major gas leak in Harrogate will continue today (Monday, 28 October).

Around 3,200 homes - mostly around Jennyfields - were without heating and cooking facilities over the weekend.

It's after a pipe on Ripon Road was damaged on Friday (15 October).

Northern Gas Network has told Greatest Hits Radio Harrogate and the Dales gas supplies to properties have been restored to most homes.

Engineers will resume making house calls in Harrogate today to continue checking that everyone is back on gas.

Many people were left without heating or cooking facilities for over 48 hours.

A customer centre was opened at the Jennyfield Styan Community Centre for those affected.

It's where homeowners could collect heating equipment and food vouchers while the repair work to the gas pipe on Ripon Road was fixed.

Northern Gas Network engineers worked around the clock to fix the gas leak - with the work complete late yesterday evening (Sunday, 17 October).
