A major housebuilding firm in Knaresborough has collapsed into administration after failing to find a buyer.

Ilke Homes appointed administrators early on Friday (June 30), with the majority of its 1,150 staff set to be made redundant.

It's factory in Flaxby will also be closed immediately.

Administrators said the firm had "faced challenges of unprecedented inflation and a lack of land supply linked to planning processes."
